General Tips

Here are some tips for traveling through Brandon Municipal Airport (YBR): 

• Arrive early: Plan to arrive at the airport 90 minutes prior to departure to ensure adequate time to check-in and be processed through the single security checkpoint with your checked and carry-on luggage.
• WestJet: adheres to a strict check-in cut off time of 45 minutes prior to departure.
• Parking: Do not leave your vehicle unattended in front of the terminal doors as this is the designated space for picking up and dropping off passengers. Unattended vehicles will be ticketed and possibly towed. Take advantage of the FREE short term and long term parking lot located in a well-lit area.
• Pack light: Avoid extra charges and heavy bags. 
• Pack liquids properly: Containers over 100 ml must be in your checked bags. Containers under 100 ml must fit in a clear, resealable, 1 L plastic bag. 
• Have your documents ready: Keep your boarding pass and ID accessible.

• Know the rules for cannabis: It's illegal to fly outside of Canada with cannabis. 
• Pick up your baggage: You can pick up your baggage from the baggage carousel. 
• Smoking or Vaping: Brandon Municipal Airport is a smoke-free facility with designated smoking areas outside the terminal. There is no smoking or vaping on the aircraft apron.
